Power units of Ukrainian nuclear power plants increased their installed capacity utilization factor (ICUF) in the autumn-winter period.
This indicator reflects how efficiently the available capacity of nuclear power units is used to their maximum capacity. In simpler terms, it means how long domestic units operated non-stop and generated electricity during the cold season.
For the first time in the history of the national nuclear power industry, we managed to achieve 100% ICUF. The units have been operating at full power throughout the autumn and winter. This was achieved owing to technological solutions and the high-class work of the new NNEGC team.
"Energoatom has revised its approach to scheduled outages, shifting the focus to the maximum operation of power units in the autumn and winter. And this has yielded results," said Petro Kotin.
The percentage of power units’ utilization is shown below.
⚡ 2020/21 – 64,7%
⚡ 2021/22 – 76,3%
⚡ 2022/23 – 81,9%
⚡ 2023/24 – 100%
