Energoatom connected one more unit to the power grid of Ukraine
On August 23, 2024, Energoatom’s specialists successfully connected a power unit of one of the NPPs to the national grid after outage. The power ascension is in progress. After the unit reaches full power, the output of national power system will be increased by 1,000 MW. This will significantly strengthen the power grid.
“Nuclear employees continue to work ahead of schedule. On the eve of the Independence Day of Ukraine, owing to their professional work, it was possible to complete the repair activities on the power unit 7 days ahead of schedule,” stressed Acting CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”.
He reminded that since the beginning of this year, outages had been shortened by 24 days; owing to that the electricity generation was 484 million kWh•h more than was planned.
Energoatom makes every effort to ensure that the power units located on the territory controlled by Ukraine operate at full power during the autumn and winter period. Taking into account the difficult situation in the power industry, nuclear engineers continue to promptly carry out repair works without loss of quality.
