Petro Kotin noted that NNEGC should cooperate with environmental NGOs to raise awareness of the safety of nuclear power plants in Ukraine.
“This is important because we plan to develop nuclear generation under the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050. Ukrainians should know more about the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants,” said the head of Energoatom.
In turn, Iryna Malyarenko assured that the NGO “Environment. Smart” is interested in comprehensive public awareness for the development of nuclear energy in the country: “The goal of our NGO is to contribute to creating a sustainable and safe future for Ukraine. The development of nuclear energy is one of the ways and one of the green stages. Therefore, by signing this memorandum, we confirm our readiness for mutual understanding and cooperation in the interests of Ukrainians.”
As a reminder, earlier, Energoatom agreed to cooperate with the All-Ukrainian NGO “Association of Agroecologists of Ukraine” and the Public Union “Professional Association of Environmentalists of the World (PAEW)”.
