KhNPP birthday power unit dons a new embroidered shirt!
Today, August 7, 2024, marks 20 years since the second unit of Khmelnytskyi NPP was connected to the national power grid by strengthening it by 1 GWe.
On the anniversary, power unit 2 received a new embroidered shirt as a gift! And now, two KhNPP power units wear the national dress, making this plant unique not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.
As a reminder, construction of KhNPP unit 2 began in 1983. When a moratorium on constructing new nuclear power units was imposed on August 3, 1990, the unit was 95% complete. Just 10 years later, Ukrainian nuclear power professionals managed to complete the construction and put the power unit into operation.
