One of Ukraine's nuclear power units has been connected to the power grid 13 days ahead of schedule after scheduled maintenance. While repairing, fresh fuel was loaded and spent fuel was unloaded. The power is currently being ramped up.
After reaching full capacity, the power system will be strengthened with additional megawatts of electricity, which will have a positive impact on the electricity situation in the country.
“Energoatom is performing the necessary work at the power units, trying to carry out repairs as soon as possible, with no loss in quality though. The Company and our employees understand the importance of nuclear energy for the whole country and the energy mix,” said the head of Energoatom Petro Kotin.
