The third diesel generator delivered to Khmelnytskyi NPP
The procurement of machinery and equipment for the upcoming Khmelnytskyi NPP unit 3 construction continues.
Recently, the third diesel generator was delivered to the facility, which will become part of the backup power system. This equipment plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of the power unit in case of emergencies. Each diesel generator is capable of independently supplying electricity to important plant systems.
These diesel generators help Zaporizhzhia NPP avoid a severe accident when the plant loses connection with all overhead lines and the Ukrainian power grid.
Completing the third power unit is one of Energoatom's priority projects to improve Ukraine's energy security. The Company's specialists are actively working on preparations for completing KhNPP units 3 and 4. Repair and restoration works are currently underway at the plant site.
Completion of the construction will significantly increase the electricity generation at KhNPP. The new power unit will be a significant step towards the country's energy independence.
